Goodbye 2018—Hello 2019

Wow, it’s hard to believe that another year has gone by so quickly. Are there things that I wish I had done? Of course. Were there things I did that I shouldn’t have done? You bet.

All in all, I had a good year. I changed jobs and now I work with a great group of people. Went to the family reunion and saw family that I hadn’t seen in a long while. I became a grandmother for the second time. We had a couple weddings in the family, and sadly a few passings.

I’m still writing, editing, and formatting, all things that I enjoy. But I didn’t write as much as I would have liked to. I’m sure every writer feels that same way. Oh, I did write plenty of things, many which will never be anything more than a draft.

Timeless, was published in the Loyal Hanna Review. A local magazine highlighting local authors. Spirit of Lonely Places, was published in supernatural anthology, Evil Lurks, highlighting supernatural flash fiction pieces.

Outlines were created, but the pages remain blank. I added a paragraph here and there, but the creative juices just didn’t flow.

There are a few local writing groups that I belong to, I attended meetings, wrote some short stories, and did several critiques.

Now I’m done with 2018 and on to 2019.

Do I want things to be different? You bet. Am I making more of an effort? Currently, yes. Can I keep it up? Only time will tell. There are several things that I would like to accomplish in 2019. More reading, more writing, more book reviews, and more time for my blog.

So there you have it. My goals for the New Year. All very doable. All that’s left is to put my fingers to the keyboard, eyes to the books, and red pen to the critiques. Wish me luck.
